IHA serves as state liaison to The Joint Commission (TJC). Member concerns with regard to TJC are brought to TJC's attention and new initiatives, proposals and standards from TJC are enacted only after input from IHA. For hospitals not accredited by TJC, state licensure and regulatory issues as well as Federal Conditions of Participation are followed by IHA.
